Awards

The Lavadeira Festival has been awarded by the Brazilian Culture Ministry and the IPHAN (Institute of Patrimony Historic and Artistic National) as "Heritage of the Brazilian Popular Culture". The Festival is also listed as a touristic attraction for Pernambuco State, being part of the annual tourism calendar of Cultural Events.
For this work and its importance for the Lavadeira Festival has been recognized through various awards:

• Calendar Cultural Touristic city of Cabo de Santo Agostinho / PE

• Award Rodrigo Melo Franco - IPHAN (1988) (For the first time the Lavadeira Festival wins the prize for Best Project for Diffusion of Popular Culture in the Northeast of Brazil.)

• Award Popular Culture of the SID / Brazilian Culture Ministry (2007)

• Award Rodrigo Melo Franco - IPHAN (2008) (Ten years of a consistent work receiving for the second time the Award for Best Project for Diffusion of Popular Culture in the Northeast of Brazil.)

• The Lavadeira Festival has been awarded as a Public Cultural Heritage of the State of Pernambuco - Brazil
